Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister visits Sangachal terminal

A SOCAR delegation, led by Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the SOCAR Supervisory Board, visited the Sangachal Terminal on May 14.

The visit aimed to provide firsthand insight into the operations of this world-class facility, one of the world's largest oil and gas receiving, processing, and exporting terminals. The delegation also sought to explore potential optimization opportunities.

The agenda included presentations on the terminal's history, current operations, and the functions of its various facilities and assets. Following these presentations, discussions explored future opportunities. The delegation also met with Gary Jones, bp's Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye, and other members of bp's regional leadership team.

The visit included a comprehensive tour of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) and Shah Deniz fields, the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) head compressor station, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) head pump station, the Central Control Room, the SOCAR Metering Station, and other key facilities within the terminal.
